Summer lash trends for 2024 - Dose of Lashes

Summer lash trends for 2024

Is that the sun we can finally see?

Thank goodness for that.

After months of dismal weather, the seasons are catching up – and as we move into the bright and sunny (hopefully🤞🏻) summer, the beauty industry is set to bloom with new lash trends.

The overall vibe? Less is more. Whether you’re heading to a BBQ, hitting up a festival, becoming a beach bum or exploring a new city, this year, it’s all about understated yet impactful lashes – that are as hassle-free as possible, yet still make you look radiant.

Here are three of our favourite looks.

  1. Natural (looking) lashes

It’s official, ‘skinimilism’ has spread to the lash department.

One of the biggest trends of the last few years, this is all about stripping back your beauty routine in favour of a more minimalist approach. Think fresh-looking skin, barely-there makeup looks, and now – natural, light-textured falsies that subtly enhance your own lashes.

People are moving away from heavy full-on glam lash extensions, and reverting to classic styles – which offer a much more understated and timeless beauty.

And to nail this latest eyelash trend? Length is much more important than volume.

Opt for an ultra-fine style, with a delicate C curl and a fluttery length of 14-16mm.

  1. Wet lashes

Another new lash trend that’s set to make a splash this summer (pun intended).

Again, it’s all about looking fresh and dewy.

As the name suggests, ‘wet look’ lashes are meant to mimic the textured spikes that appear when your natural eyelashes become wet. Just without having to dip in and out of the pool!

Classic day-to-day extensions form the basis of the style. But these are layered up with more voluminous lashes, and a mixture of lash lengths are used – typically with shorter lashes placed towards the inner eye, which gradually increase as you move towards the outer corners.

Then – to give them a slight sheen and finalise the ‘wet look’ aesthetic – a high-viscosity lash serum or simple mascara is used to clump the lashes together. Subtle yet super sexy.

  1. Angel lashes

This heavenly eyelash trend is set to be one of the biggest for the summer months.

It’s exactly as it sounds – ethereal.

Angel lashes are all about creating a light and feathery look, which is hard to miss (due to its divine beauty) – yet, at the same time, looks almost as natural as your own lashes.

To create the wispy style, fine lashes are the go-to. Rather than applying a uniform set, several different lengths (ranging from around 8mm to 12mm) are combined along the lash line, helping to create a ‘choppy’ look that’s reminiscent of natural lashes.

An elegant C or D curl is recommended, giving the impression of a natural lash that’s received a little lift. Then, to ramp up the flutter factor, either combine the angelic technique with a doll-eye look or focus longer, more voluminous lashes on the outer corners to create a soft cat flick.
